Settings and your account

Units, maps, reminders, signing in, managing Pro, and deleting your account.

Open Settings from the gear button at the top of any tab on iPhone, or from the sidebar on iPad and Mac.

Units and map

Measurement System
Imperial (feet and miles) or Metric (metres and kilometres), for distances in the planners. Sensor sizes and focal lengths are always in millimetres.
Satellite Imagery
Apple's imagery, or Google's for comparison. Google's comes from an unofficial source that can stop working without notice; switch back to Apple if it doesn't load.
Field of view overlay color
The color of the lens cone in the Shot Planner.
Show opposite direction / Extend camera line behind you
Extra lines in the Shot Planner, useful when the light is behind you.
Time Mark Spacing
How far apart the time marks are along the sun and moon paths in AR.

Reminders and alerts

Wake-up alarm
When Photinerary sets a real alarm for an early start, such as for anything leaving before a time you choose. It applies to shots and trips with Remind Me switched on.
Location Alerts PRO
Every alert you've set on your saved places, in one list.

Account

Settings › Account is where you sign in, see your subscription, and manage your Community submissions.

  1. To sign in, tap Sign in with Apple. You can choose to hide your email; we'll get a private relay address instead.
  2. My Community Submissions PRO lists the places you've submitted, as In review, Approved or Not approved.
  3. Sign Out signs you out of Photinerary's server. Your library stays on your devices and in iCloud.

Your locations, shots, trips and journal sync through iCloud, not your Photinerary account, so they're there whether or not you're signed in.

Subscribe, restore and redeem

More about what Pro includes: Photinerary Pro.

Delete your account

  1. Go to Settings › Account and tap Delete Account.
  2. Confirm. Everything attached to your account on our server is deleted: your Community profile, posts, friends and favorites, pending submissions, and any trips and shots you started collaborating on (collaborators lose access). Places of yours already in the catalog stay, without your name. There's no need to contact us.

Deleting your account doesn't cancel an App Store subscription. Cancel it in the iOS Settings app (your name › Subscriptions) as well. Your own library in iCloud isn't affected; delete items in the app if you want them gone too.

Data credits

Settings › Data Credits lists the sources whose licences require credit: the elevation data behind the terrain features, and the OpenStreetMap buildings in View from Here.
